Trinity Exists To Bring People Into God's Family. Teaching Them About Jesus & Empowering Them To Serve The World Through The Love Of God!
Been Thinking About:
|
Greetings! Almost a month has passed since Faith and Trinity voted to begin the process of becoming one church. Over the last few weeks we have begun putting things in place to move us into this new future. Now I want to assure each of you that communication is very important to all of us. One of the very first things you will see is the unifying of communication where all who are interested in keeping up with the news will have access to receive the latest updates. Now with this new direction comes change. Some of the prior communication formats will look different and some will be changed into the new format. Let me remind us that these changes are not for the sake of change. They are all to position us to have the greatest impact for God’s Kingdom here in the Gibsonburg area. This morning during my time with Jesus I was reminded of the verse from 1 Corinthians. Listen to these words: 1 Corinthians 10:31 31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. The Apostle Paul is encouraging the church at Corinth to obtain a different focus. He is seeking to bring them to a new goal, a new focus, a new direction. This direction is where the aim is to do everything for God’s glory. We must remember the church at Corinth was deeply divided and separated even to the level of different allegiances to Christ, Apollos or Paul being celebrated (1 Corinthians 1:12). Paul wants this church to now keep separate allegiances but to come together for one purpose. The purpose the Apostle Paul has in mind is to bring glory to God. Did you hear that? Did you see it? Friends, as we move forward this must our aim too! We must not keep the deeply entrenched allegiance to Faith or Trinity but we must move forward with one purpose and one goal, namely to bring God glory! I encourage us all to begin this process of bringing God more glory by praying for one another. Specifically pray for our brothers and sisters at Faith and Trinity. Pray for the leaders of Trinity and Faith. Pray for guidance, wisdom and direction for all involved. Pray we would all come together seeking to give God more glory in this journey! Blessings to you all! Pastor Max |
